National Library of Medicine Director, Patricia Flatley Brennan, RN, PhD, has named Dianne Babski as Performing Associate Director, Division of Library Operations (LO) at the National Library of Medicine (NLM) powerful March one, 2020.
As Performing Associate Director of LO, Ms. Babski is accountable for the finances, facilities, administration, and all round administration of just one of NLM’s premier divisions. She is accountable for more than 450 team who present wellness facts services to a international viewers of wellness treatment industry experts, researchers, administrators, college students, historians, individuals, and the public. In her acting purpose, Ms. Babski oversees a nationwide community of over 8,000 academic wellness science libraries, clinic and public libraries, and local community corporations to enhance entry to wellness facts. Ms. Babski will also provide as the Scientific Overview Administrator to the federal advisory committee recommending journals for MEDLINE (Literature Collection Technological Overview Committee) and will characterize NLM to the Global Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the Association of Investigate Libraries.
Ms. Babski has served as the Deputy Associate Director for LO considering that April 2013. As Deputy, she led the inaugural year for the Information Science @NLM Teaching Plan for NLM team, served as acting head of the Coordinating Office of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and Performing Head of the National Details Center on Overall health Products and services Investigate & Overall health Treatment Know-how.

Prior to joining NLM in 2005, Ms. Babski labored in the Scientific Overview Plan of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Ailments, producing peer assessment instruments and database resources. She also labored on the NASA SPACELINE knowledge undertaking that provided place daily life sciences citations and indexing to MEDLINE. She has a BS in Biology and Biochemistry and MIM from the College of Maryland, School Park.
